What is the ‘catch’?
Your mum always said, "You can get nothing in this life for free!" so what is the catch with this? A website for free on Community Hosts when others are looking to charge me a monthly free to do it! Well at Community Hosts we aim to be fair, open and honest. So what do we get from this? Well part of reason that we do this is because we know what it is like (we have done it!) and we do it because we can and we also want to give something back. There is also a small commercial goal – which is to try and generate some income to support what we are doing.
We look to try and do that in several ways. Firstly by acting as affiliates to other companies and offering you products and services that we ourselves use; that might benefit you. Secondly by generating some advertising revenue on the sites that we host (by placing one discrete banner advert on the bottom of your site). And thirdly by donations from yourselves – because you like what we do, or simply want to remove the banner advert from your site.
